Earlier this year the Welsh Office for National Statistics showed that the teen pregnancy rate in Merthyr Tydfil, a town in the south of the country, has risen significantly in the last years. In 2008 officials recorded 73.5 pregnancies per
1,000 teenagers aged 15-17.
