The Swiss media are reporting that, according to the Federal Statistical Office, the number of assisted suicide deaths increased by 26% in 2014 from the year before. The 742 assisted suicide deaths represents more than 2.5 times as many as five years previously.

Since the start of its most recent campaign, 40 Days for Life reports that 189 preborn children – and their mothers – have been saved from abortion. The group organizes national and international pro-life prayer campaigns, and has 367 locations in the United States and in 23 countries.
From September 28 through November 6, pro-lifers will mobilize across the globe to pray for an end to abortion. Since its conception, 11,796 lives have been saved from abortion, 75 abortion facilities have closed, and 133 abortion workers have quit the industry.

Tim Farron has accused a Conservative MP of spreading a “downright lie” about him telling LGBT politicians he would “pray” for them.
The Lib Dem leader appeared alongside Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn, Conservative Party chairman Sir Patrick McLoughlin and SNP Westminster leader Angus Robertson at the Women and Equalities Committee on Wednesday.
The four men were called to explain what they were doing to increase the number of women in parliament as well as MPs from other minorities.

A baby's first heartbeat happens as early as 16 days after conception, a new study has discovered.
Until now, researchers thought that the first time our heart muscle contracted to beat was at 8 days after conception in mice which equates to around day 21 of a human pregnancy.
Now, a team funded by the British Heart Foundation (BHF) at the University of Oxford have found it is far earlier.

The study by the government's integration tsar Dame Louise Casey is said to criticise ministers for failing to integrate minorities and tackle extremism.
The report has been ready for months, according to reports but its publication was delayed after Home Office officials expressed ‘unhappiness’ about its content.

A Muslim and a Christian have made a new translation of the Quran to underline the similarities between their two religions.
The authors, who are also friends, said they hoped the text would provide “a tool of reconciliation” between Christians and Muslims.
Some 3,000 parallels between the Bible and Quran are demonstrated in the book, which has a split-page format.

One of the most well-known Christian leaders in the world has restated his support for assisted suicide.
Desmond Tutu, the South African anti-apartheid campaigner and Anglican Bishop has written an op-ed in the Washington Post which outlines his stance.
He says he had previously supported assisted suicide for others, but now comes closer to saying that he may choose an assisted death for himself.
