Croydon South MP Richard Ottaway is hoping to clear up legislation surrounding assisted suicide. Mr Ottaway has been granted a debate by the Backbench Business Committee on the subject: "This House welcomes the director of public prosecutions' guidance to prosecutors in respect of cases of encouraging or assisting suicide and invites the Government to consult on whether to put the guidance on a statutory basis".
