In this video, Wilberforce Director Dr Joe Boot discusses the biblical role of the state, in light of the UK's decision to leave the EU. Joe says that God does not appear to "sanction any one particular model", but He desires accountability to Himself. Too much power in the hands of the state, Joe says, is dangerous, as it threatens Christian self-government under God. For this reason, Brexit may be a positive step towards devolving power and reclaiming accountability.
