'Largest liberalisation of abortion practice since 1967 Abortion Act' under David Cameron

Significant liberalisation of abortion practice has effectively been 'smuggled in' by David Cameron's Conservative-led Coalition government. 

Interim guidelines issued to private abortion providers in 2012 suggested that there is no obligation for doctors to see women considering abortion when making an assessment.

The changes, which effectively allow for 'nurse-led' abortion, were introduced without public consultation or parliamentary debate
