A baby who was born at 24 weeks after miraculously surviving a number of abortion attempts is alive and healthy two years later, it has been revealed.
Doctors at Hope Hospital in Salford, who have published a report on the case in the Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, believe that the boy is the most premature baby to survive an abortion attempt in the long-term.
The child has "defeated all the odds," said Dr Paul Clarke, a former member of the hospital's neonatal intensive care unit. "Doctors tried three or four different abortive drugs."
