Time for change

Saturday 27th October 2007 was the 40th anniversary of the 1967 Abortion Act which legalised the killing of the unborn.
Time for change brings together churches, professional bodies and pro-life organisations to mark this anniversary.
About one thousand Christians joined
with us as
we remembered the 6.7 million unborn children who have been killed and
the many thousands of others, especially women, who have been
adversely affected by this law.

The
Human Tissue and Embryos Bill,
expected to be introduced into Parliament after the Queen's
Speech
on 6th November, will open up the entire 1967 Abortion Act for
amendment. Pro-choice
MPs have pledged to liberalise the law
and intend to mark the anniversary of the 1967 Abortion Act with a
push to bring in 'abortion on request' in the first three months of
pregnancy.
The first stage of this battle is a government
consultation
into scientific developments since the Abortion Act. This is being
carried out by the House of Commons Science and Technology Committee,
The closing date for written submissions was Monday, 3rd September
2007 and oral evidence sessions will commence in October.
