U-turn on abortion after model feels baby kick

Printer-friendly version

Josie Cunningham, who had threatened to have an abortion in order to boost her TV career, has changed her mind after feeling her baby kick in the womb.

Josie made the decision after arriving at the abortion clinic where she planned to have the operation.  She told The Daily Mirror: “I just couldn’t do it.”

Andrea Williams of Christian Concern has criticised the widespread attack on the model, saying: “In some ways it is surprising that Josie's statements provoked such a backlash given the fact that we as a society have created a situation where 200,000 babies are aborted each year mainly for lifestyle reasons.

"The baby's kick reminds us of the humanity and vulnerability of the unborn child, and Josie's case should be a wake up call for us all."
