Religious schools in Lancashire have come under fire for turning down the offer of lessons from the local NHS community education sexual health team.
The Catholic and Muslim schools in Blackburn and elsewhere in East Lancashire are under no obligation to accept the invitation and there is no suggestion that they are failing to meet the requirements of the national curriculum. However, this has not stopped vocal criticism from 'sexual health' charities.
