Schools should no longer hold collective acts of worship, a report has concluded. The study, for the Arts and Humanities Research Council, claims that acts of worship could discriminate against other religions.
In England and Wales, apart from non-Christian faith schools, all schools are required to hold a daily act of collective worship of a broadly Christian character. Parents already have the right to remove children from these, if they so wish.
