The selfishness of assisted suicide

Printer-friendly version

In an article for Spiked Online, academic and author Kevin Yuill exposes the self-centred nature of assisted suicide. Observing the tragic case of Gill Pharaoh, a healthy 75-year-old who recently took her own life in Switzerland, Yuill argues that "the drive behind the assisted-suicide lobby is the idea that the world must mould itself around the perceived needs of ‘afflicted’ individuals". He also goes on to criticise Rob Marris' Assisted Dying Bill.
