Bishop urges caution over extremism orders

Printer-friendly version

Bishop Michael Nazir-Ali has expressed his concerns over the government's counter-terrorism strategy and suggested alternative means of tackling the problem.

Speaking on Radio 4's Sunday programme, Bishop Nazir-Ali explained how Extremism Disruption Orders threaten freedom of speech, and said that whilst law should be used to prevent people inciting others to violence, there need to be "policies of integration... of common citizenship, of common values."
