A bill challenging the use of sharia law in the UK has progressed to the next stage of the parliamentary process. Baroness Cox's Arbitration and Mediation Services (Equality) Bill will now be considered in committee by the whole House of Lords.
During yesterday's second reading debate, Baroness Cox spoke of the rapid development of an "alternative, quasi-legal system which undermines the fundamental principle of one law for all."
