Same-sex couples have begun to convert their civil partnerships to same-sex 'marriages' this week after the move became legal on Wednesday.
But speaking on BBC Northampton, campaigner Alan Craig explained that the step was part of "the process of wrecking ... traditional marriage" (listen to the full interview here). New provisions also mean that individuals can change their recorded gender without having to dissolve their marriage or civil partnership.
