Readers refuse to buy paper showing two men kissing

Sales of the Bristol Post plummeted by thousands of copies when the editor decided to publish a front-page photograph of two men kissing, with the caption “You may now kiss the groom”.

The editor, Mike Norton, admitted he had misjudged his readers’ reaction to the kiss between two men who were celebrating their same sex 'marriage'. He posted a blog asking readers for their opinion of the picture, with many replying to express their disapproval.
