Conservative Sir Greg Knight has asked whether the Business Secretary will implement a 1928 act to fix the date for Easter between 9 and 15 April.
The National Secular Society has expressed its support for the change, saying the lack of a fixed date disrupts “the orderly planning of school terms and... business.” Such a change would mean that Easter would no longer be linked to Passover and the time of Jesus' crucifixion and resurrection.
