Prime Minister to block WiFi pornography in public areas

David Cameron has announced new plans to automatically block access to pornography through public WiFi networks in an attempt to provide more protection for children.
Clean WiFi
Mr Cameron said that he wanted “good, clean WiFi” in public places such as cafés and railway stations to prevent children from accessing harmful content on computers and mobile phones.
He said: “We are promoting good, clean, WiFi in local cafes and elsewhere to make sure that people have confidence in public WiFi systems so that they are not going to see things they shouldn’t.”
Welcomed
The move has been welcomed by the Children's Charities Coalition on Internet Safety, made up of charities including Action for Children, Barnados and NSPCC, after it campaigned for the proposals amid concerns that children were accessing pornography away from their homes where tighter controls may be in place.
The coalition's secretary, John Carr, said: "We welcome any deal which is long overdue.
“Public access to the internet is a modern reality and we have to find a way of dealing with this growing problem.”
