Freedom

Britain has a history of religious freedom and tolerance. UK and European law largely protects an individual’s right to hold and manifest religious beliefs at work, although this is fast being eroded. Due to badly-written equality legislation, increasing numbers of Christians have been penalised for their faith at work. Some have been threatened with disciplinary action, suspended and even sacked for refusing to act against their consciences. At Christian Concern we vigorously resist any restrictions on freedom of speech and expression for Christians at work.

It is now apparent that British policy is being dictated by Islamist threats. Tim Dieppe investigates why Asia Bibi has not been offered asylum by the British government.
  • Cinemas reject WW1 Bible Society short film
    November 9th, 2018
    It emerged this week that Empire Cinemas has rejected a short film produced by the Bible Society which highlights the comfort some first world war soldiers found in the Bible. The three-minute film explains that all British soldiers were given a Bible as part of their kit and that this was a source of hope to many. Empire Cinemas explained that they do not take adverts from any religious groups. This is not the first time that Christian films have been blocked by UK cinemas.
