International Persecution

Across the globe there has been a significant escalation in discrimination, persecution and violence against Christians on the basis of their faith. More Christians have died for their beliefs in the twentieth century than at any other time in history. Christians are particularly vulnerable where they are a minority in Islamic countries. At Christian Concern we seek to highlight and expose this persecution and encourage the church to engage in practical ways and help where they can.

    Prince Charles has spoken of his deep concern over the plight of Christians in the Middle East. His comments came at a Christian reception and followed meetings earlier in the day with Middle Eastern Christians who have fled to the UK, some of whom spoke of martyrdom and showed images of the destruction that they had experienced.

    A Christian man in Nigeria has spoken about his miraculous escape from execution after gunmen from Islamic extremist group Boko Haram broke into his home and threatened him with death.
