Campaign group Abort67 have launched a national tour showing images of aborted babies to members of the public at universities and in city centres.
Their displays have provoked a strong reaction from members of the public. Students have attempted to cover up the displays on several occasions with their own placards.
Today in Liverpool, a tyre of the group’s minibus was slashed whilst it was parked close to a BPAS abortion clinic in the Aigburth area.
Abort67 campaigners report that prior to the event, a man dropping off a woman at the clinic swore at them as they gathered outside.
Andrew Stephenson, a member of the pro-life group, said:
“There weren’t many people around when we arrived, just a couple of clinic staff. About 15 minutes later a guy dropping off a woman at the clinic pulled into the car park and was swearing at us.
“About half an hour later we noticed the tyre slashed on the minibus which was parked about 100 yards away.
“We don’t know who did it for sure but have spoken to police and we’ll be checking the CCTV footage to try and find out”.
Abort67 campaigners say the tour has already been hugely successful from their perspective, with many people changing their minds about abortion as a result of seeing the pictures.
Kathryn Attwood commented: “This is what it’s all about – educating people about what abortion does to preborn children.
“When people try and cover the images, it proves a point for us. Abortion is only acceptable when it is kept hidden from view”.
The group has already visited Cambridge, Nottingham and Manchester with its displays and will continue on from Liverpool to Bristol.
The Christian Legal Centre recently supported Andrew Stephenson and Kathryn Attwood in their legal case in Brighton. A District Judge cleared them of charges under Section 5 of the Public Order Act.
