Lord Farmer has written of his support for better palliative care and of his strong opposition to current proposals to introduce assisted suicde.
Lord Carlile has also underlined the dangers of moves to legalise assisted suicide, highlighting both the signal that it would send to those who are vulnerable and the failure to allow proper scrutiny of so-called safeguards. Baroness Finlay meanwhile has pointed to the experience of places where assisted suicide is allowed.
