A law intended to protect religious freedom in the US state of Indiana has been amended following an aggressive campaign by opponents.
The Religious Freedom Restoration Act was only passed earlier this year but provoked criticism from some high profile figures. One lawyer labelled the opposition as "anti-Christian bigotry". The revision diminishes the scope of protection of conscience and religious freedom under the law. Arkansas has passed a similar measure.
