A recent visit to the Auschwitz-Birkenau extermination camp prompted Christian campaigner Alan Craig to read more about the rise of the Nazi regime and the behaviour of the churches.
His research uncovered both some inspiring examples of courageous Christian faithfulness and some shocking examples of compromise and complicity amongst the churches in Germany. Perhaps most striking were some disturbing parallels with 21st century Britain.
