A ‘transgender’ boy must be allowed to change in the girls' changing room, a US school has been told. The US Department of Education ordered Township High School in Illinois to let the teen use the girls' facilities, as not to allow him access was “discrimination on the basis of sex”.
The school's superintendent, Daniel Cates, called this an "infringement of privacy" on the other students. The school had previously offered the student a private changing area as a compromise.
