The Real Easter Egg, which explains the real meaning of Easter (yes, it mentions Jesus), is on sale in Tesco, Waitrose, Morrisons and dozens of independent retail outlets. But Sainsbury’s refuses to stock it, for some reason. Bishop Anthony Priddis was welcomed at Tesco, Bishop Andrew Watson at Morrisons, and Bishop Nigel McColloch at Waitrose. These stores have no problem with selling an Easter Egg which tells the Easter story (yes, it mentions Jesus). But when a bishop went to Sainsbury’s HQ in London, the doors remained firmly shut.

A gay clergyman has accused the Anglican Church in Wales of homophobia after he was rejected for a job as a bishop.
The Dean of St Albans, the Very Reverend Jeffrey John, was not chosen as the Bishop of Llandaff earlier this month.
A current bishop said it would be "too much of a headache" to appoint him, he claimed.
The Church in Wales "strongly denied" the accusations of homophobia.

A prominent gay cleric's homosexuality was the only reason he was blocked from becoming a bishop, he has claimed.
Canon Jeffrey John was favourite to be Bishop of Llandaff but was subject to 'a number of homophobic remarks' during the appointment process before being eventually rejected by bishops, he said.
In an unusual move, Dr John, who is currently Dean of St Albans Cathedral, wrote an open letter to the senior Bishop of Swansea and Brecon, John Davies, complaining at his treatment which he said was a 'clear and ludicrous breach of process'.

Women should be able to have abortions simply because their unborn child is the ‘wrong’ sex, a leading ethics expert at the British Medical Association has said.
In a highly provocative interview with The Mail on Sunday, Professor Wendy Savage called for the law banning such terminations to be scrapped.
But pro-life campaigners immediately slammed her demands as ‘utterly abhorrent’.

The Church of England's first female bishop has been helping the next generation of female clergy decide whether ministry is for them.
Rt Rev Libby Lane, Bishop of Stockport (above), was the keynote speaker at the Discerning Women's Conference in Diocese of Blackburn on Saturday.
The event, targeted at women aged between 16 and 40, is encouraging younger females to consider a career in church work.

The BBC's Asian Network has apologised after one of its presenters caused controversy after asking its Twitter follows "what is the right punishment for blasphemy?".
In a video posed on the corporations Twitter feed Muslim activist Shazia Awan asked followers to get in touch and offer their opinions on how blasphemy should be dealt with.
Her assumption that blasphemy - which is still punishable by death in some Muslim countries - should also be punished in Britain shocked many viewers.

The Swedish government is poised to simplify the process of changing one's gender by scrapping the demand for a medical procedure in order for it to be legally recognized. Incidentally, the demand for gender changes is skyrocketing amid Sweden's young.
Today, Swedish law requires transgender people to undergo medical procedures (and possibly intervention) before having their gender change legally recognized. The new law will hereby make this process less stressful and allow applicants to receive a new personal identity without medical verification.
Swedish Health Minister Gabriel Wikström said that the new legislation is designed to improve the health of transgender people, whom he claimed to generally have poorer physical and mental health compared with the general public, the Swedish tabloid newspaper Aftonbladet reported.
