As women, the abortion industry tells us that they empower us. They tell us that as women we can only attain success and happiness if we have full access to abortions with no restrictions. They tell us that abortion doesn’t hurt, it isn’t dangerous, and it will solve all of our problems. They tell us that we may walk into abortion clinics with the weight of the world on our shoulders, but we will walk out with our heads held high, having taken control of our lives.

John Swinnney has said he will consider removing 16 and 17-year-olds from the SNP’s plan to assign every child a state guardian after the UK’s highest court ruled parts of the scheme were unlawful.
The Deputy First Minister said he would examine the move as part of an overhaul aimed at “addressing concerns” about the Named Person scheme in the wake of a damning judgement from the UK Supreme Court.

August 8, 2016 (C-Fam) - For many years UNFPA leadership has maintained that religion is one of the biggest barriers to people’s enjoyment of their “sexual rights.” The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) has teamed up with the Church of Sweden to convince religious leaders to accept abortion, contraception, and the sexual autonomy of children.
A recent joint event in Sweden named “Women, Faith and Human Rights,” was ostensibly aimed at proving there is no incompatibility between faith and human rights. A closer look reveals deep fault lines between religion as practiced by most of the world’s believers and human rights as interpreted by UN agencies.

A state judicial panel on Monday refused to dismiss an ethics complaint against Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore, saying that Moore will go to trial in September on accusations that he urged 68 probate judges to defy the federal courts on same-sex marriage.
The Alabama Court of the Judiciary, a state panel that disciplines judges, refused dueling requests to either dismiss the complaint against Moore outright or remove him from office. Chief Judge Michael Joiner said the case would go to trial Sept. 28. The panel of nine judges will hear the case and decide whether Moore violated judicial ethics and, if so, what punishment he will face.

The Scottish government’s controversial “named person” scheme has been dealt a body blow today with the Scottish Liberal Democrats withdrawing their support for the legislation
Writing in The Times, Willie Rennie, the party leader, says the Lib Dems can no longer back the new law, because of “mission creep”. He cites reports of data sharing between health visitors, teachers, GPs and others and calls for an independent review of the “struggling” policy.

The foreign secretary, Boris Johnson, has lifted a ban on UK embassies and high commissions flying the rainbow flag during gay pride events.
In one of his first policy shifts since coming to office, Johnson overturned the decision of predecessor, Philip Hammond, who insisted that only the Union flag, the EU’s blue-and-gold flag and the flags of the nations and overseas territories of the United Kingdom could be flown from Foreign Office buildings.

DUBLIN (ChurchMilitant.com) - A justice in Ireland's High Court has ruled that an unborn infant is a child with more rights than simply the right to life.
Justice Richard Humphreys affirmed this week that an "unborn" infant is "clearly a child" with rights beyond the right to life, which "must be taken seriously" by the state.
