Mother highlights pressure of Down's test

Printer-friendly version

A mother has told how she turned down a test for Down's syndrome and continued with her pregnancy, despite doctors raising concerns about the health of her baby. "I got the impression [hospital staff] were pushing for me to have [the amniotic fluid test] but I refused every time," Rachel Gibson explained. Abortion was "never an option for us" and the difficulties around the pregnancy have only "made me love Zane even more," she said.
