PM says scientists 'not playing God'

Printer-friendly version

The Prime Minister said that scientists are not “playing God”, as he voted for the 'three-parent children' proposals this week.

He also dismissed any risk of “designer babies”. “This is much more like a kidney donation or a lung donation rather than some sort of fundamental change,” he said. But his view stands in sharp contrast to concerns expressed by Bishop Michael Nazir-Ali, Dr Peter Saunders and Prof Stuart Newman amongst many others.
