HM Chief Inspector of Schools, Sir Michael Wilshaw, has dismissed concerns that Ofsted is embroiled in a 'witch-hunt' against faith schools and suggested that some of the criticism of inspectors could be a "smokescreen for weaknesses of leadership and management".
But he did not respond in detail to the issues raised by schools such as Grindon Hall School in Sunderland, and Durham Free School where one 11 year old was asked if she knew any lesbians.
