Teachers urged to drop 'British values'

Printer-friendly version

Teachers have been urged to "actively disengage" from following rules that require schools to teach 'British values'.

Dr Robin Bevan, Head of Southend High School for Boys, told teachers at a conference in Liverpool that the rules are unnecessary, "ill-considered, ill-defined and counterproductive". Some Christian and Christian ethos schools claim to have been penalised by Ofsted as a result of the Government's recent 'British values' drive.
