New research highlights the important role that many grandparents play in childcare.
The study suggests that over two million working parents would consider giving up their jobs if they were not able to turn to their own parents for childcare support. It follows research that grandparents save families £11 billion a year on childcare. Even though some are still working, nearly half of over-55s are involved in some form of regular childcare for their grandchildren.
