Washington DC has banned mental health professionals from offering help to young people in changing unwanted same-sex attraction. Similar prohibitions already exist in California and New Jersey.
In the UK, Geraint Davies MP has sponsored a Private Members' Bill that would ban such counselling for adults and young people. However, although scheduled for last Friday, the Bill was not debated. It is unclear whether it now will be debated before the General Election.
