Family and Sexual Ethics

The family is the most foundational building block for society. The loving union of one man and one woman is the normal God-given context for children to be born and raised. This pattern for married life has been under attack for all of human history. Divorce, homosexuality and transsexualism are three of the most significant challenges to God’s pattern for family in today’s society.

“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.” Genesis 1:27

The dispute is a long-running one and centres on the issue of whether the charity can continue to operate in a way that is consistent with its religious beliefs, specifically as they relate to placing children with homosexual couples.

    Trevor Phillips, the head of the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC), has commented on religious discrimination in the UK. In an interview with the Sunday Telegraph, Mr Phillips singled out evangelical Christians for criticism. He said: “I think the most likely victim of actual religious discrimination in British society is a Muslim but the person who is most likely to feel slighted because of their religion is an evangelical Christian.”
