In a three-part series, Dr Joe Boot (Wilberforce Academy, Ezra Institute for Contemporary Christianity) argues that liberal democracy – the dominant view in political philosophy - is a form of heresy springing from beliefs that should not be held by Christians. In part one, Dr Boot looks at authority – what is a Christian understanding of knowledge and how does it help us assess differing views of political life?

With Parliament recently approving the government’s new guidelines on Relationships and Sex Education – which will come into force from 2020 – the Christian Legal Centre’s Roger Kiska explains why the State has an obligation to provide education "to support the promotion of values which are in harmony with and respect the rights of families with faith backgrounds."

March 8th, 2019 | Islam
In November 2018, the All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on British Muslims released a report ‘Islamophobia Defined’, urging the government to adopt a legal definition of Islamophobia. Certainly, anti-Muslim hatred and discrimination need to be addressed, but the report and its definition are problematic and only likely to make the problem worse. Tim Dieppe examines the report and the proposed definition and finds that adopting this definition will seriously inhibit free speech.
March 7th, 2019 | Family and Sexual Ethics
The news that one of the governors of the Tavistock gender clinic recently resigned brings the whole organisation and its ideologies into question, yet there is a great unwillingness to speak publicly about the real dangers of allowing under-18s to ‘transition’ gender. Carys Moseley says now is the time to investigate what really goes on in the Gender Identity Development Service for Children and Adolescents.
After the recent release of results from the Ozanne Foundation Faith and Sexuality Survey, members of the press were quick to report on the ‘shocking’ statistics, which allegedly showed that a fifth of homosexual people who try to change their sexuality attempt suicide. Carys Moseley explains why that, and other findings, are hugely inaccurate and concludes that the press must be careful to report the truth.
