Annise Parker, the openly homosexual mayor of Houston, has rowed back on an attempt to force church pastors to provide her with copies of their sermons. The church ministers opposed the Houston Equal Rights Ordinance (HERO) which, amongst other things, sought to provide access to single sex toilets by those identifying as transgender.

Ofsted has raised concerns over the slow speed of change in the Birmingham schools at the centre of the Islamic 'Trojan Horse' controversy. In a letter to the Education Secretary, Ofsted's Chief Executive said that in respect to leadership and governance, "very little action has been taken to address the serious concerns raised in the previous inspections."
