Scientists in Oregon have unveiled a new technique that could challenge the creation of 'three-parent' babies.
The development could help tackle mitochondria diseases without the need for third-party genetic material. It may still be ethically problematic, however. Earlier this year, Parliament dismissed ethical and safety concerns and voted to make the UK the first country in the world to allow the creation of 'three-parent' babies.
