A new study conducted by King's College London reveals that one in 20 girls aged under 16 are being prescribed the contraceptive pill without their parents' knowledge. Doctors are giving the Pill to 75,000 girls (some as young as 12) each year, an increase of 50 per cent in a decade.
"This undermines parents and endorses the breaking of age of consent laws," said Andrea Williams. "Under-16s should be protected and taught the benefits of keeping sex within marriage."
