Kristie Higgs, a secondary school pastoral care worker, was dismissed for gross misconduct after a parent reported two of her private Facebook posts that raised her concerns about new Relationships and Sex Education.

    Following the recent controversy over the sacking of rugby player Israel Folau and the punishment of Billy Vunipola, Communications Officer, Rebekah Moffett, comments on how any view that criticises a homosexual lifestyle is increasingly being pushed out of the public square, and concludes that we must uphold Christians’ freedom of speech, even if their views are contrary to modern Western culture.

    After hearing about plans to introduce teaching on LGBT relationships in primary schools, school worker Kristie Higgs took to Facebook to voice her concern to her friends. However, after one of her ‘friends’ saw two of Kristie’s personal posts, she was reported to the headteacher of her school and later sacked for gross misconduct.
