Even before this week's House of Lords' vote, scientists had begun seeking women to donate eggs to enable the creation of 'three-parent children', it has been revealed.
An advertisement, placed by a team based at Newcastle University, makes an appeal for "fit, healthy women between the ages of 21-35 years old" and offers £500 "compensation" for those who provide eggs. Health risks for egg donors are amongst the many objections raised to 'three-parent baby' plans.
