Bioethics

Scientific research has the potential to be used for good, yet UK law allows embryos to be created for research and then destroyed after 14 days. It also allows the use of embryonic stem cells and the creation of animal human hybrids. Yet at conception an embryo is genetically distinct from the mother and is a new, unique human being. All of the hereditary characteristics of this new person are established, including colour of eyes, gender and build. Unborn children should therefore be shown great respect from fertilisation. At Christian Concern we seek to defend the sanctity of life and raise a Christian voice in this arena.
