A 59-year-old British woman is seeking a judge's permission to become a grandmother using eggs from her only daughter, who died four years ago.
If successful, the woman would travel to the US and seek to become pregnant using her dead daughter's frozen eggs and donor sperm. The woman and her husband claim that it was their daughter's desire that they should become grandparents in this way. It is believed to be the first case of its kind in the world.
