Following a 'postcard campaign' by the Catholic church in Scotland, evangelical church leaders have followed suit by making the Scottish Government aware that they strongly oppose any move to bring in full homosexual 'marriage'.

The number of single women using IVF treatment to have a baby has increased over the past two years.
A church in Liverpool has been ostracised from other community groups in the city after it came to light that they had published a resource which labelled homosexuality “a sin” and suggested ways in which to help. Frontline Church in Wavertree had made the “fact sheet” available on the website. There has been a strong reaction to the leaflet’s content, in particular its suggestion that people are not “born homosexual”.

A new poll by ComRes has found that a massive 83% of church-going Christians in the UK are opposed to plans by the Conservative Party to legalise homosexual marriage, and 57% of all respondents are 'less likely to vote' for the party because of this move.
The Equalities Minister, Lynne Featherstone MP, will announce that homosexuals will be able to take part in civil partnerships in churches from early 2012. Currently, homosexual civil partnerships can only be held in register offices and secular venues such as hotels and stately homes.

Dr Philip Nitschke, also known as ‘Dr Death’, is due to host a number of seminars on various ways to commit suicide in the UK this month. Dr Nitschke, who is the founder and director of the euthanasia campaign group Exit International, will discuss different ways in which elderly and terminally ill people can take their own lives.

The Member of the Scottish Parliament for Lothians, Margo MacDonald, has re-launched her attempt to introduce legislation that would allow for voluntary euthanasia. The independent MSP had attempted to pass a similar bill last December but it was soundly defeated 85-16 in a parliamentary vote.

Further doubts have been cast over how family-friendly the current Government is after it has come to light that a number of NHS Primary Care Trusts (PCTs) are offering fertility treatment to single women, whilst in other areas some couples in stable relationships are denied treatment.
